Neoluddites, technophobes, Internet and the Moleskine

It is nowadays widely spread a ‘new’ idea: by using google, the Internet and marking things to ‘read it later’ we are losing our brain memory.

Well, counting that we have been noting things on papers in order to remember them later, saying that “google and the internet” is damaging our memory sounds bit technophobe to me. If that is true, why not saying the same about paper notebooks and Moleskines? I used one years ago, to write quick notes about something I saw, ideas, anything it came to mind.

Affirming that by replacing post-its by “remember later” technology screws our memory is a really bold one. It is sure that this modifies our ways to think and associate concepts but, damage our brains?
